Visiting a school and sharing my books!
The photos above were taken at a recent school visit that features my new book, "In the Trees, Honey Bees!" published by Dawn Publications. My 45-minute presentation about honey bees is a great fit for second grade life cycle curriculum and includes sharing my experiences with my beekeeping father-in-law (he had 300 hives!), lots of visual aids such as his "bee suit," veil, hat, real honeycomb, photos I took at a beehive, and reading my book that opens a fascinating window into a day in the life of a wild honey bee colony.
This presentation works best in a classroom or library setting and concludes with answerings questions, handing out autographed book marks, and signing books when schools order books in advance.
My $300 fee includes three 45-minute sessions per day and travel expenses when necessary.
