It was a great day and the sun was out—along with me and four other fabulous children's authors (Rachel Cabalse, Erin Dealey, Jocelyn Watkinson, and Brian Wallace) eager to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with storytimes, book signings, and fun activities at Ruby's Bookstore in Folsom, California. Arlo was front and center and it wouldn't be Ruby's without friendly Ruby the store mascot.
As if the day weren't exciting enough, as the sun got hotter, air expanded and balloons began to pop, exploding like fireworks and sprinkling confetti-filled balloons down on groups of happy listeners. Until next time, Ruby's Bookstore!
